French Passions: Edmund de Waal on Proust

Описание к видео French Passions: Edmund de Waal on Proust

In 2011, British artist Edmund de Waal came to the French Institute in London and explained how Proust was at the heart of his family history and to what extent the French author had influenced his writing.

Edmund de Waal describes himself as a 'potter who writes'. His porcelain has been exhibited in museum collections around the world. 'The Hare with Amber Eyes', an extraordinary journey through the history of a family in objects, presents an amazing knowledge of fin-de-siècle Paris; it was published by Chatto in June 2010.

Boyd Tonkin, literary editor of The Independent, chaired the talk.
