Ghana in December 🇬🇭 When the Diaspora returns home... to party !

African-Americans & British Ghanaians generally choose December to see their families again.

Far from the 5 week vacations taken by the French, the Americans benefit on average from 10 days of annual leave. Some therefore save their money throughout the year to spend it during their holidays… in Africa!

Every evening, the many bars, restaurants and nightclubs are taken over by partygoers. During this period, Accra has become so touristy that many other nationalities are also mixing there now!! The term "Detty December" was therefore invented, a formula derived from "Dirty December."

It's a whole economy in Ghana that benefits and adapts to a completely different clientele than the rest of the year: obviously restaurants, bars/clubs but also taxi drivers, shops, artists, influencers …
