Rusty Japanese knife restoration - Tadafusa nakiri

This project took more time than I expected but it was very fun ! I love working with nakiris and I was pleasantly surprised to see that this one was made by Tadafusa, not some random garbage knife.

The handle making part was a bit underwhelming with the holes in the ferrule and I could have probably fixed it better with some wood glue and wood dust but I didn’t want to take that risk on this project, so I went with techniques I’ve already tried. Not my best handle, but it feels very good in the hand and still looks pretty good imo, so it’s all good, right ?

In the end, this knife ends up pretty cool looking. The polishing is far from perfect but I’m glad I experimented with some new techniques and no matter what, the knife cuts beautifully.
