In this video we look back at the lush rack tones of the 80s. Players like Michael Landau, Steve Lukather, Dann Huff & Michael Thompson popularised huge spacious tones derived from their studio racks. These started fading away in popular music after the advent of grunge in the early 90s, but it's always fun to revisit these sonic masterpieces.

While this is not intended to be a precise recreation of those tones, I used a lot of the same gear to get a pretty good facsimile. Let me know what you think!
