Описание к видео EDSEL HISTORY - Meet the men that made it happen

This video was recorded at the Edsel Owner’s Club National Meet July 29-August 2, 1987, thirty years after the launch of the Edsel brand. The honored guests were Roy Brown, Head Stylist of the 1958 Edsel and C Gayle Warnock, Public Relations Director for the Edsel Division of Ford Motor Company. At this gathering of Edsel enthusiasts and collectors, these men shared fascinating details about the development and marketing of The Edsel.

The 1958 Edsel automobile was launched as a new brand by Ford Motor Company on September 4, 1957. Heralded as the greatest new car ever produced, the Edsel instead failed miserably, nearly bankrupting Ford Motor Company. The Edsel brand was discontinued due to disastrous sales shortly after the introduction of drastically restyled 1960 models. This video details the rise and spectacular failure of The Edsel.

The late Gayle Warnock died at age 91 in September 2007. Roy Brown died at age 96 in February 2013. This video is dedicated to the memory of these men and their involvement with one of the most fascinating stories in automotive history.
