Human Puppets is a cult-favorite Greek minimal synth and electronic duo that was active during the 2000s and early 2010s. They are highly regarded in the underground "minimal wave" scene for their strict use of vintage analogue equipment and D.I.Y. aesthetic.
The Greek Band (2004–2012)
Origin: Formed in Athens, Greece, in 2004.
Members: Stathis Leontiadis (also known for his solo project Doric) and Nick Kapantzakis.
Sound & Style: Their music is characterized by cold, rhythmic synthesizer melodies, "toy" noises, and analogue tapes. They were heavily influenced by the Dada movement and the early 80s minimal-electro sound.
Key Releases:
The Future From The Past (2006) – Their debut LP, considered a staple of the modern minimal synth genre.
Sounds Of Solitude (2011) – Their final studio album.
T.V. Eye (2010) – A notable 7" single.
Current Status: The band officially parted ways in 2012, primarily because the members lived in different cities. Stathis Leontiadis remains very active today (into 2026) with his project Doric, which carries on the analogue synth tradition.
