Vader's fearsome helmet struck fear into the hearts of the galaxies citizens. No one more so than Vader's secret apprentice, Starkiller who had been a victim of Vader's wrath from a young age. Vader's mask also symbolised power and the dark side, something Starkiller craved. However, this would all change during his final moments. After defeating Vader, the Emperor offered Starkiller a place at his side, just as he did to Luke Skywalker many years later. Although initially tempted by the dark side, Starkiller rejected it, in large part due to the suffering and pain he could see within the eyes of an unmasked Vader. Having rejected the dark side, Starkiller confronted the emperor, allowing many founding members of the rebel alliance to escape from the grasp of the Empire.
