From the WordPress users table, the password can be changed by simply deleting the previous password and replacing it with a new password. The main thing to keep in mind, though, is that the varchar needs to be set to MD5, in order for the new password to be encrypted and useable by the WordPress login screen.

While WordPress does come with a User Interface password reset function, it doesn't always work. This can be especially true when you've forgotten a password that is used for localhost development, though this certainly isn't the only case. Luckily, phpMyAdmin makes changing a WordPress password from the back end quick and easy. This video is predominantly created for WordPress admins who are simply looking for a quick result to their lost password, and doesn't give very much information about logging into, or using phpMyAdmin.

This WordPress and phpMyAdmin quick tip is just that, a quick tip.
