We all love holiday decor, and there’s something magical about the season, but if you plan on selling your home during the winter, let’s review some staging do’s and don’ts.

Update Your Curb Appeal: Landscaping tends to look more sparse in the winter, and in our area, there’s not much you can do about that, so be sure to power-wash the exterior, update the lighting and house numbers, and purchase a new doormat for the front door.

Make Your Home Smell Good: Warm scents such as baked goods can make a home tour pleasing to potential buyers.

Make Your Home Cozy: Turn up the heat and keep all the lights on. Decorate your home with warm colors and add plenty of pillows and blankets.

Holiday Decorations: Have a decorated house, but don’t go overboard. Be more like Better Homes and Gardens and less like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
