The fabric acts as a huge sail in the wind, and that sail is pushing on the screen's support bar that goes across your screen (between the fabric and your window), it's this support bar that you hear tapping against the break in your window. The answer is simple, open your window and you'll see at the break in the window a support bar going across the screen (this support bar is for strength and keeps the screen from bowing inward), put a piece of double sided tape, tape a piece of cardboard, a felt pad (anything), wedge anything between that support bar and the break in the window. From the outside if you push on the fabric to emulate the wind, you will see what I mean.
