GREAT YARMOUTH - Tour of the AMAZING Seaside Holiday Town Great Yarmouth Norfolk
Come with me as we explore the promenade, pier, beach, seafront of this amazing seaside holiday destination. Great Yarmouth is full of fun, from amusement arcades and rides to the hotels, cafes, restaurants, pubs and tourist attractions that run from the pleasure beach up to the Britannia Pier.
Great Yarmouth, located on the East Norfolk coast, is a classic seaside resort perfect for a day trip or a longer holiday, boasting a lively atmosphere and a long stretch of sandy beach. 🏖️ The main beach, Central Beach is a wide, sandy expanse situated between the Britannia Pier and Wellington Pier. It's ideal for sunbathing and swimming, and you can even hire deck chairs. The promenade, known as the Golden Mile, runs alongside the beach and is the heart of the town's entertainment. It’s packed with attractions, arcades, and a wide variety of cafes and eateries, from traditional fish and chip shops to ice cream parlors. During the summer, the seafront often features fireworks displays on Wednesday evenings.
Great Yarmouth is a paradise for amusements and rides, particularly along the Golden Mile. The Pleasure Beach is a major highlight, a free-entry amusement park with a mix of modern and traditional rides. Its star attraction is the wooden roller coaster one of only two of its kind in the UK. For younger visitors, Joyland amusement park is a must-visit, famous for its classic "Snails" and "Tubs" rides. Beyond the thrill rides, the town offers a range of other attractions like the Sea Life Centre, a fascinating aquarium, and the unique Hippodrome Circus, which is Britain’s only complete circus building.
When it comes to accommodation and dining, Great Yarmouth has a wide selection to suit all tastes and budgets. You'll find numerous hotels and guest houses lining the seafront, many with sea views and traditional charm, like the Imperial Hotel and Prom Hotel. For those on a budget, options like the Premier Inn are also available a short drive away. In addition to the casual cafes and food stalls on the promenade, the town has a variety of restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy a full meal. Beyond the seafront, you can explore the town's rich history at places like the Time and Tide Museum, housed in a former herring curing works, or the Elizabethan House Museum, giving a glimpse into Tudor and Victorian life.
