The grouse-shooting season is underway today in Scotland as hundreds of enthusiasts have flocked to the moors for the Glorious 12th - the traditional starting day in August (pictured). But the season is under threat from both natural and unnatural sources, with weeks of poor weather forcing some estates to postpone or cancel their events. Meanwhile, Springwatch presenter Chris Packham is leading a protest in London against bloodsports, organising the demonstration to coincide with the start of the season.
