The Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum, has indicated that the recently flagged off licensing round for the oil and gas exploration activities may not gain much traction in light of the delays related to the Production Licenses. Tullow and TOTAL have since laid off sections of their personnel, in what the players are attributing to redundancy around actual operations. The two firms are yet to secure the much treasured license that allows their direct participation in the crucial production phase of oil.
