HTML for beginners 09: HTML quotation elements

Hi there and welcome! 😊 In this video, we will go through the most common quotation elements in HTML.

⚠️ NOTE: Special characters are not allowed here in description so we will use words like less than sign, greater than sign instead.

q quotation element (starts with less than sign q greater than sign and ends up with less than sign /q greater than sign) is quotation element that we usually use for some shorter quotations. By default word(s) that we surround with q tags will be surrounded with start quotation (") and end quotation (") marks.

blockquote quotation element (starts with less than sign blockquote greater than sign and ends up with less than sign /blockquote greater than sign) is quotation element that we usually use for some larger quotations for which we want to add address of quotation source ( from where we took this quotation ).
With blockquote quotation element we usually use cite HTML attribute, and like value for this attribute we set address of quotation source.

Important thing that you should remember is that address that we set for cite attribute, it's not directly visible anywhere inside of our web page. But this address is important for searching engines ( like Google or Yahoo ), that can suggest that website ( of quotation source ) to users that have visited our website.
