Blue Curacao, Making your own!

Blue Curacao is a Liqueur that goes in all type of drinks, TIKI, Boat, Summer cocktails. It's an orange flavored liqueur that is used to enhance the color and flavor of hundreds of cocktails. The only problem is that this sweet sugary ingredient doesn't always taste great. Well a cocktail that uses the best spirts, deserves the best of all it's components. I was surprised to see how easy it is to make and how much better it tastes. So "Let's get Pouring" and make our own.

Ingredients
.3 Tsp Blue Food Coloring
1.33 cup Simple Syrup
1.8 cup Orange Liqueur aprox. 40% ABV
Directions
In a mixing container add .25 tsp food coloring, 1:1 simple syrup and orange liqueur (recommend Citron, Cointreau or Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao.) Stir to mix thoroughly. Adjust coloring by adding blue food coloring if needed. Bottle and label. Yield 4.25 cups or 750ml.
If you have a favorite Orange Liqueur, feel free to use it, however make sure it is a clear spirit. A orange colored liqueur such as Grand Marnier or Licor 43 will have an effect on the final color.
