A trip on the Jacobite, in 2010 I had the opportunity to travel on the footplate of Black 5 45407 from Fort William to Mallaig on the Jacobite. The driver seen in the video is Paul Kane who sadly passed away not long after this was taken. I found him to be a great ambassador for steam, his warmth and encouragement to get more involved in steam stayed with me and lead to my taking the decision to go to a hertiage railway and volunteer for many years.

This route was used for filming some Hogwarts Express scenes in the Harry Potter films, most notably the Glenfinnan Viaduct seen in the video.

This was filmed on a 720p camera so the quality is not up to modern standards, also the poor weather on the day and the rough riding of the engine made it very tricky to film. This is the kind of thing I'd use a go pro for nowadays.
