The show announcer during the first run of the show was Rod Roddy, he served as the narrator for the show "Soap." He also announced for game shows such as Press Your Luck, Love Connection and the most famous game show "The Price is Right," he announced until his death in 2003.

Merrill Heatter was one half of the known "Heatter-Quigley Productions." Along with Bob Quigley produced "High Rollers" with Alex Trebek as host, "Gambit", and their most famous "Hollywood Squares." Their company was sold to Filmways.

Merrill Heatter would go solo and continue to produce shows including All-Star Blitz, Bargain Hunters, and an updated version of High Rollers, all in the 1980's, unfortunately all the shows lasted, at most one season.

Merrill Heatter recently found success with his new show "Catch 21" on GSN, which ran for 4 seasons.

Around the same time Battlestars was on the air, Alex Trebek also hosted a show in his native Canada called "Pitfall," the production company behind Pitfall had a couple of their own as the company went bankrupt, not only did contestants didn't get their prizes they won, Alex never got paid for hosting the show.

Alex Trebek would team up with Merrill Heatter a few more times hosting the pilot shows of "Lucky Numbers" (Updated version of High Rollers in 1985) and the infamous "Malcolm." A year after Malcolm was taped; Alex Trebek got the job as host of "Jeopardy!"
