In the year 1721 Weiss wrote his perhaps most famous piece ’Tombeau sur la Mort de Mr. Comte de Logy’ in memory of the
composer and lutenist Count Jan Antonin Losy von Losinthal (1650-1721),also known as Johann Anton Logy.
We know that Weiss and Logy met in Prague and I’m quite sure that Weiss was influenced by Logy’s music.
(You can find a Suite by Logy on my album ’11 string Baroque’. Also available on Spotify etc.)

This weekend many of us honour our deceased friends and relatives so I felt that this beautiful music would be suitable.

I play my 11-str alto guitar made by Georg Bolin in 1974
