By this point I think people probably have a lot of faith in Adam’s exploration and canoeing and adventuring credentials but he’s also a really good writer. I have really enjoyed all of his books that I have read.

His most recent book is Whisper on the Night Wind. It’s a canoe adventure in Labrador, and is actually a mystery about a ghost town that was abandoned 100 years ago and strange tracks in the woods. It’s kind of a cold case and he wrote the book like a detective story, and the whole fun of the book is trying to unravel the mystery before you get to the end. He gives lots of clues throughout the book and he reproduces fur trapper’s diaries and eyewitness accounts from 100 years ago. He lets the reader read their actual words and buried in their diaries and journals are all the clues you need to decipher the mystery. That’s a fun book for a trip or to read around the campfire, and it’s his most recent book he’s written.

He also has a history book called A History of Canada in Ten Maps, which despite the title is not really about maps at all but is about the flesh and blood characters who created the maps, bringing them to life and telling tales from Canada’s history.

His book Beyond the Trees is about his journey across Canada’s Arctic.

His first book is titled Alone Against the North, and that’s about surviving adventures in Canada’s wilderness alone.
