By default, Windows 11 snaps desktop icons to a grid, making them jump to specific positions when you try to move them freely. Here's how to disable this grid and move your icons anywhere you want:

Right-click on an empty space on your desktop.
Select View.
Uncheck the box next to Align icons to grid.
Now you should be able to move your desktop icons anywhere on your screen without them snapping back to a grid position.

If you want to go back to the grid layout later, simply follow the same steps and check the box next to Align icons to grid.
