In this travel vlog,i have shown Similipal National Park Mayurbhanj tourist places which includes Barehipani waterfall which is the highest waterfall of Odisha and 2nd highest waterfall in India.
Similipal National Park is a national park and a tiger reserve in the Mayurbhanj district in the Indian state of Odisha.It is the 7th largest national park in India.This protected area is part of the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves.Covering a vast area of 2750 km2 out of which 303 km2 from the core area, thick biosphere reserve is a sanctuary and one of the tiger projects and national parks of India. With a wide range of rainfall and edaphic variations, from dry deciduous to moist green forests, it is suitable to many species of flora and fauna. About 42 species of mammals, 29 types of reptiles and 231 species of birds are in this plateau. The average mean elevation of Similipal is 900 meters. There are tall sal trees in large numbers.

Located in Mayurbhanj, Northern Odisha, Similipal Tiger Reserve is a place where Nature binds you with its awe inspiring beauty, grace, power and its calmness. The Similipal Tiger Reserve which covers an area of 2750 Sq KM is Odisha’s foremost wildlife sanctuary.Similipal is named after red silk cotton semul trees, which are found abundantly in the region. The Tiger Reserve also boasts of a huge variety of wild orchids which lends a romantic charm to the forest. The magnificent Joranda, Baharepani and other smaller water falls waterfalls leaves one spellbound & the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger gives the Tiger Reserve the character which fits perfectly with the settings.


The must see places when on a jungle safari into the Similipal National park Mayurbhanj from Karanjia are:
-300 years old sal plant
-Pine forest
-Uski falls which is a beautiful waterfall nestled in Similipal Wildlife Sanctuary.
-Joranda Falls which is the 19th highest waterfall of India. The Joranda Falls (ଯୋରନ୍ଦା ପ୍ରପାତ୍) is a waterfall located in the core area of Simlipal. The Joranda Falls has a total height of 150 metres (490 ft). The water plunges over a lofty cliff in a single drop, spreading out slightly as it falls.
-Barehipani Waterfall which is the 2nd Highest waterfall in India.Barehipani Falls is a two tiered waterfall located in Simlipal.The Barehipani Falls has a total height of 399 metres (1,309 ft). It is a tiered waterfall with two drops. it is the second highest water fall in India and the highest water fall in Odisha. The tallest single drop is 259 metres (850 ft).
-Chahala,place where deers in large number come for grazing after evening in Similipal Biosphere reserve.
A trip to similipal will be worth it when visiting Odisha. Best time to visit the Similipal Tiger reserve is from October to March.


Now the Similipal forest has caught fire and is burning. Hope the authorities are able to control the fire in Similipal national park and prevent further more damage. The similipal national park fire has been a matter of concern for the nature lovers and many people are praying for Similipal fire to subside across the country.
