Excellent AdventureVan: Super Duty Dana 60 Axle Build (Rebuilding the Steering Knuckle)

Описание к видео Excellent AdventureVan: Super Duty Dana 60 Axle Build (Rebuilding the Steering Knuckle)

Welcome to Bre & Casey’s #ExcellentAdventureVan!

One of the first steps of converting a van to four wheel drive is sourcing a front axle from a four wheel drive truck. Four our van we decided to use a one-ton Dana 60 axle out of a 2004 F-350 Super Duty pickup truck. Our axle was in great shape, but we needed to re-gear it to match our larger size tires, and so we figured we might as well rebuild it in the process. We will create a series of videos detailing the axle build process.

This first video covers rebuilding the steering knuckle (i.e. removing and reinstalling the ball joints). I was quoted $100 per balljoint to have this process done for me, and you can rent the tools to do it yourself from your local AutoZone for FREE! The process is a bit tedious, but it’s super easy. Follow along to learn how it’s done!

Follow along as we turn this low mileage 1998 Ford #E350 7.3L #PowerStroke van into the ultimate #4x4AdventureVan (on a budget)!
