In September 2018 Maki Namekawa published her solo piano version of Philip Glass' soundtrack to the Paul Schrader movie "MISHIMA - A Life In Four Chapters".
To date her track "MISHIMA Closing" has been streamed well over a million times on Apple Music.
Namekawa stated,
"We did the filming shortly before the new year. It was early in the morning, lonely, foggy, and I felt the frost like little knife marks on my skin. What motivated MISHIMA to commit suicide and could he find peace?“
