Spearfishing Philippines: Dreaming Big Fish

The Philippines with its 7000+ islands seems to be THE place to go for some serious fish, right? Well, during our recent trip there I realized that it's not what it seems. Unfortunately, almost everywhere we went - we could see and feel the impact of serious overfishing. I mean serious serious overfishing.
Some days seemed to be like the Med, diving for 6-7 hours straight with only few sightings of decent fish. Maybe we visited the 'wrong' spots, maybe we suck in spearfishing, maybe its not the season. In the end of the day, even with the combination of all those factors we still had a very positive experience... Definitely a place to visit and to (hopefully) get back to once.
