The Hawker Aircraft company was one of history's most influential and important aviation companies. Emerging from the ashes of Sopwith in the early 1920s, under the leadership of Tommy Sopwith and Sidney Camm, its Hart and Hurricane were the aircraft that prepared Britain for war in 1939.

After that conflict, its under-rated Seahawk and feted Hunter and Harrier took the RAF and Fleet Air Arm into the jet age. This video looks at each of these aircraft and also the sadly unrealised supersonic projects of the 1960s, which could conceivably have become Britain's answer to the F-4 Phantom.
