Snowboarding DISCOVERY Ski Area MONTANA

We travel to Discovery Ski area outside of Phillipsburg, Montana to snowboard powder with our cat, Wiley (Face shots!). 2/15/22

A shredderz brand of thrills served up in a local's hangout, Discovery is a terrific find that will remind you what skiing in Montana is all about! The north-facing Limelight lift offers some of the steepest lift-served terrain around!

Discovery Ski Area is located 90 miles east of Missoula-- 23 miles wests of Anaconda at Georgetown Lake on the Pintler Scenic Route. The nearest town is Phillipsburg, MT. Both Anaconda and Phillipsburg are very historical Montana mining towns.

Just a little bit about myself-- my name is Rowdy, I've lived in Montana my whole life and started snowboarding 13 years ago. My home mountain is Big Mountain in Whitefish, Montana (where I was a season pass holder for 10+ years).
This year my wife, Megan, and I sold everything we owned and bought a truck camper. This winter we hit the road to chase powder with our puppy "Bridger" and kitty cat "Wiley"

My two favorite things are snowboarding and making videos, so I hope you enjoy!

Discovery has three faces. The front face is the perfect blend of gently sloping runs and more advanced groomed cruisers. Off the Granite Chair, things step up a notch with steeper groomed runs and mogul skiing. And the backside? Well, imagine the Chugach without the costly helicopter ride. Point is, we have great terrain and lots of it. No matter what kind of mountain you like, you just discovered it.
