SONY WF-1000XM3 BATTERY REPLACEMENT , JUST A 10 MINUTE JOB🤪

Описание к видео SONY WF-1000XM3 BATTERY REPLACEMENT , JUST A 10 MINUTE JOB🤪

I've owned my Sony XM3's for some 2 1/2 years. Great bit of kit.

You can still purchase them for approx £100

Battery life has dropped to about 45 minutes, should be approx 6-8 hours.

Rather than throw them out, I purchased replacement rechargeable Varta CP1254 A3 batteries , or the newer A4 version also fits.. cost is approx £30-£40 for 2. I purchased mine from eBay uk but the seller does not sell them now.

Here's a link BUT I have not purchased any from Aliexpress, so I cannot comment on whether you are buying genuine Varta batteries!!

Take your time removing the earbud caps, they can be a bit tricky and awkward to get a good grip of, to prise the cap off, which is the hardest bit of the job.
Then remove the 2 screws with a small screwdriver( Philips size #000) and replace the battery, ensuring to remove all of the new battery packaging before you install them.

There may be some sticky tape on the old battery, put it onto the new battery if able, it helps keeping the battery in place.

Give it a go, saves chucking them out.

Ensure you have the latest software for the earbuds
Reset them-recommended after a software update
The battery level remaining on your iPhone etc may not show the correct charge level and may stick on 100% until you have done several discharge-charge cycles, this is normal.

IF I HAVE MADE ANY COMMENTS THAT ARE INCORRECT, PLEASE ADD IN THE COMMENTS SECTION AND I WILL AMEND IF REQUIRED

The earbuds are now giving me 4-5 hours of audio time now. Very happy.

UPDATE 2/10/24
This from a viewer if you get any charging issues after you've put everything back!!
Thanks to @jonnybr2871
"After replacing the batteries, the left bud wasnt working, and the red charging light was flickering really lightly, like there was a voltage problem. The bud wouldnt connect to the phone, so I put the old battery back in the bud to test it and it didnt change, so I could see there was a problem with the actual bud. After a bit of research it seems that the charging case cant regulate the voltage correctly sometimes. To fix this issue, you need to let the charging case run totally flat, (leave the door open with the buds in), then once you recharge the case, and put the buds back in they work as normal once fully charged."
