Noreen Mutavhatsindi is a 22-year-old young adult who had to work hard to improve her marks in high school. Whilst she was in Grade ten, she passed Mathematics and Physical Science with 29 and 30 per cent respectively and she was constantly reminded that no one from the township of Winterveld where she grew up, which is located on the north western region of Gauteng has ever passed these two subjects with outstanding marks in Grade 11 Noreen worked really hard and she managed to get 77 percent for both these subjects from then on, she was unstoppable.
In matric she was a top learner at Abel Motshwane High. She passed top of her class and subsequently became member of the Golden Key Society which comprises of 15 per cent of top learners in faculties across South African Universities.
It was when she was in her final year of studies that she realized that her "first calling" was teaching.
She then founded a tutoring company called Phindulo Tutoring which is an initiative aimed at helping learners to excel academically.
To date she has managed to produce 'A-CLASS' learners. Her ultimate wish is to have an online school which would be accessed globally. Initially she offered tutoring services in Mathematics and Physical Science only but now she has expanded to other subjects. In a country where unemployment rate sits at 34 percent, Noreen is assisting towards job creation and at age 22 she is doing extraordinarily well.
