In This video we start the tear down of the 5.3 replacement motor or engine we got for the Chevy Suburban I bought. I found out what is wrong with the old motor and it is blown up. More to come on that in a different video. In this video I show you how to tear down a LS engine. This is a 4th gen ls 5.3 but it is very similar to all other ls engines. 4.8 5.3 6.0 and 6.2. The reason I am taking the new motor apart is to start on the dod and afm delete. Generally people do this in the car but it is way easier to do out of the car with the engine on the stand. We get all of the main parts off of the engine and down to a short block. We will be replacing several parts as we go but I will need to clean up the block which will be in the next video.
