After being in the receiving end of a midweek mauling at Runcorn, Leek Town showed great bouncebackability to hand out a similar punishment to play off rivals Clitheroe, with a resounding 4-1 win on the road in Lancashire and, but from a man of the match display by Clitheroe keeper Hakan Burton, it could have been more.

Unsurprisingly the sizeable contingent of travelling Leek supporters saw a starting Town line up with a number of changes made from the Runcorn game. New signing Dino Visser started in goal, Paddy Watts replaced the injured Julius Ndene at centre half, Tom Reilly and Fenton Green came into midfield for Tom Scully and Jake Avery, whilst Tom Carr was preferred up front to Aaron Opoku.
