A DUI driver driving North on Vermont Ave crashed into a LAPD vehicle. The suspect swerved and avoided a full rear-end crash and swiped the side of the patrol car.
LAPD officers were in the location conducting a possible domestic violence incident.
The suspect was acting erratically and not making sense.
LAPD conducted a DUI sobriety test and arrested the driver. He was taken to the station to be booked.
The family of the driver arrived at the scene, and the mother can be heard as they walked the suspect to the police car. The mother yelled at him, ” I told you I was going to pick you up.”
Officers were walking to their cars when the patrol car was hit; luckily, no one was injured.
Police departments all over California are out this weekend in full force to catch DUI drivers this Labor Day weekend.
