ZOE

Описание к видео ZOE

Abstract video shot in Cozumel, Mexico on a night dive. This sculpture was created by artist Colleen Flanigan with help from the TED foundation. It is connected to low voltage electrical current and has a livestream underwater camera. The electricity promotes the calcification of the metal and promotes the growth of corals that are attached to it. This form of bio-engineering represents a potential solution to the problem of global coral decline. The woman swimming too and latching on to the sculpture represents the seeding of the DNA to help this and other similar projects to grow. All footage is from an iPhone 7 inside a LENZO underwater housing. This was shot in 2017 after the initial installation of the sculpture. I hope to return soon for an updated look at the coral growth. A live stream of Zoe can be seen here :    • Living Sea Sculpture Live Stream
