Miriam was a brave little girl with a very important job to do.
She watched her baby brother Moses who was hid in a basket by the river Nile.
One day, Miriam saw Pharaoh's daughter find the basket with baby Moses inside.
Miriam bravely told the princess about a Hebrew woman who could care for him.
Pharaoh's daughter agreed, and Miriam ran to get her mother.
With Miriam's help, Moses was safe and reunited with their mother.

Years went by, and Moses grew up and led the Israelites out of Egypt and across the Red Sea.
When they reached the other side, the Israelites celebrated their freedom.
Miriam, who was now a grown woman, took her tambourine and began to dance.
She led the people of Israel in a joyful song of worship, thanking God for their miraculous escape.
Everyone sang and danced together, their hearts overflowing with gratitude.

One day, Miriam and her other brother, Aaron, started to complain about Moses' wife.
Their words were unkind.
God was not pleased with their behaviour.
Miriam suddenly found herself covered in leprosy, a painful skin disease.
Miriam knew she had made a mistake.
Her once healthy skin was now white and rough, and she felt ashamed and scared.

Moses, who loved his sister dearly, prayed to God on her behalf.
He asked God to heal Miriam and forgive her for her mistake.
God, who is always merciful, gave Miriam a second chance.
After seven days outside the camp, Miriam's skin was healed, and went home.
From that day on, Miriam continued to serve God alongside Moses and Aaron.
She became a wiser and even more devoted servant of the Lord.
