In this video, we learn a practical PLC programming problem, which involves three switches and three LEDs with a specific conflict condition. This is a great exercise for beginners learning about AND logic, Series connections, and Output Priority.
The Logic Problem We Solve:
If Switch 1 AND Switch 2 are ON → LED 1 and LED 2 turn ON.
If Switch 2 AND Switch 3 are ON → LED 2 turns OFF and LED 3 turns ON.
The main challenge here is "Interlocking": Switch 2 is used in both conditions, but the status of LED 2 changes depending on Switch 3. We will explore how to program this priority logic so the PLC makes the correct decision.
If you are preparing for an automation interview or learning Ladder Logic, this walkthrough will help you visualize the solution.
