So far our application is using SQLite as the database. This is often great in development environments but not the best in production. So in this video I help you get your application using MySQL.

There are a few "tricks" along the way...don't worry though...I provide all the details. We first use the Ubuntu package manager to install MySQL. Then we create a new database for our application. We continue with our security measures be creating a user specific for our application. Finally we configure Laravel to use the new database, run our migrations, and verify we are functional.

After this you are ready to move on to the next step.
