Anayirangal Dam [ Idukki, Kerala, India ]

When have traveled about seven kilometers from Chinnakanal, you reach Anayirangal. Anayirangal, 22 km from Munnar, is a lush green carpet of tea plants. A trip on the splendid reservoir is an unforgettable experience. The Anayirangal dam is surrounded by tea plantations and evergreen forests. The drive from Munnar to Anayirangal dam is very nice and it is scenic drive.There are tea estates on either side of the road,one side beautiful valley with tea estates in different levels and the other side is hill with tea estates.Road is good. Boating rates: Speed Boat 15 Minutes, 5 Persons - Rs. 750/. Pontoon Boat 30 minutes, 20 Seater- 1600/. Anayirankal dam is at a distance of about 22 km from Munnar towards Pooppara - Thekkady direction. Munnar - Thekkady route is one of the most scenic routes in Kerala.
