Removing the Harbor Freight Impeller from the Dust Collection System.

Описание к видео Removing the Harbor Freight Impeller from the Dust Collection System.

I've watched many videos on upgrading the Harbor Freight Dust Collection system. I purchased the Central Machinery 35 Gallon, 2 HP High-Flow High-Capacity Dust Collector from Harbor Freight for $239.

I wanted to understand if the fins on the new Wen 3403-022 Turbo Fan, facing a different direction than the original fins, were a better or worse design. I found this video on Youtube by Mathias Wandel:    • Blower impeller design experiments

He runs a interesting experiment and proves that it does increase efficiency.

Most of the videos I watched, made it a minor issue to remove the impeller. It might be a small issue if you already have a nice gear puller set, but I did not. And what made it worse, was that the cheap puller I bought from the local automotive store for $12 had a threaded screw that was too short and flanges on the arm that were too long and just would pop off when tightening the screw. With some rational advice from my Brother-in-law, Ken, I reduced the length of the flanges on the gear puller, used a socket to extend the length of the screw threads and used a hammer on the end of the screw thread to encourage the impeller off of the shaft.

It was a great relief, after spending time making no progress to have some advice that worked! I hope you find this helpful too.
