Ya know, this is my first experience with oxhorn as a handle material. I've experienced "buffalo horn" with some CAS/Hanwei pieces in the past, but this is much different to me. I like it quite a bit. Very natural and organic feeling. It's a little strange that this one is mostly transparent, being from the center of the horn rather than containing much "bark".

It's a little unfortunate that these scales are adhered to the liners of the knife, unlike their bone brethren, but not unheard of. At least it can still be taken apart for maintenance. Keep in mind that it's still a natural material like bone, so don't overtighten the screws. Horn is much more likely to split than crack, like a thick fingernail.

As far as the knife, I like this one a lot. The blade on it is similar if not identical to the TS254-Solid. This one though, is not offered in M390, but instead damascus or S90V. It also has an internal stop pin, so it doesn't suffer the blade wrap potential that the TS254-Solid does.

The spring in this is also stronger than the TS254, however it's still a bit weaker than I'd prefer. I like a slipjoint to fight back a little bit when I attempt to close it for peace of mind, and this doesn't really offer much of that.

Blade shape and ergos are great though. It's got a nice belly to it that can really get through material regardless of the angle you're cutting at.
