Madrid Light Rail trams, June 2024

Описание к видео Madrid Light Rail trams, June 2024

Madrid has four light rail lines which serve districts not covered by the Metro, and intended to aid new development. They have modern tramway construction with grooved rails and 750v DC overhead electrification. They use Alstom Citadis 302 trams, built in 2006/7 as 5-section units, but with the intention of extending them as needed. Three of the routes are branded as Metro Ligero “light metro” with line numbers ML1, ML2 and ML3. The lines are entirely private right of way, but the rails are laid in hard paved surfaces. The fourth light rail line appears on the Metro map with a metro line number, line 12. It is a circular route serving Parla in the south of the city and is currently described as MetroSur, although it has also been promoted as Tranvía de Parla. It uses the same model of Citadis 302 trams, but with a distinctive green livery, and much of the track is laid in grass.
