This heavily glaciated mountain landscape, with the great bulks of Susten - and Gwächtenhorn, is impressive to all who journey over the Sustenpass. The Sustenhorn, the highest peak in this impressive cirque, is a much visited and very popular destination, both in summer and in winter. The normal route to the Sustenhorn offers fantastic views of the Uri and Bernese Alps. The difficulties are moderate and most of the time the route is well tracked. The ideal starting point is the Tierbergli hut, which can, as an alternative to walking, be reached via a nice via ferrata. June, 2023.
