Expand your ecoflow river battery capacity cheaply and safely

Do this at your own risk. This is not a tutorial. Adding power pack other than the manufacturer's will void the warranty and can pose a fire risk.
I am not sponsored by Ecoflow.
I have seen users adding their own power pack to the Ecoflow River. The Solar and car input has a max of 12 A and 8A respectively. The car input is designed so you don't accidentally deplete your vehicle's battery by drawing too much current from it.
It is probably safe to just add a properly fused power pack protected by a BMS, but I don't want to chance it by doing it haphazardly. Since the Ecoflow app allows you to set the maximum charge of 8A when you select car recharge, just pick that option and you are good to go. The XT 60 input is the same for both solar and car recharge.
Just make sure your power bank is under 25v. My power bank is 12.3v so there is no worries there. By adding an extra power pack, you make the Ecoflow River that much more useful. Imagine adding a 100Ah Lifepo4 battery and you can run that 12v fridge for a few days.
