Vivaldi 4 Seasons: AUTUMN Violin Solo

This is my student Rachel Benge, soloing with a live chamber orchestra in my former teacher Karen Child's annual Vivaldi 4 Seasons Concert. Karen has been doing this event for so many years that I was in it back when I was Rachel's age - soloing "Winter" as a senior in high school. This is an exciting evolution to have one of my students be invited to solo "Autumn" in that same concert that started the year I soloed back in 1996! Both Karen and I teamed up to support Rachel all summer to prepare these three movements of Vivaldi's Autumn. Thanks to Karen for this wonderful opportunity! Here's Rachel's 3-movement solo performance of Autumn from Saturday, September 14th at the Bountiful Davis Arts Center.

BIO: Rachel Winn Benge has been playing Suzuki violin since age 5. She is currently a student of Cathy Butler Teichert. Her favorite way to showoff is hula hooping or rollerblading while she fiddles. She is the 7th of 10 children, all of whom sing beautifully. She also plays the piano. Most people know her for her sweet disposition and willingness to serve. She is especially good with children and is a top-notch baby-sitter. Now in her senior year at Northridge, Rachel is already loving serving as a UKnight Leader - an ambassador of sorts for all new students. She has also performed in many school musicals. After graduating from high school, Rachel is planning to serve the Lord Jesus Christ on an LDS mission, and then go into teaching, but is also interested in criminal justice.
