Welcome back, friends! It’s Debbie from Refresh Restyle, and today Jenny and I are crafting the February CraftAlong Box: a sweet spring Salt Box House with the cutest little sheep. This layered wood kit is perfect for farmhouse spring decor, and it’s super customizable. Whether you want a shelf sitter using the included triangle stand or you’d rather add twine to the back and hang it, you can make it your own in minutes.

What we’re making
A 3D layered salt box house scene with a sheep, star and heart accessories, and a stand
Soft spring sky with fluffy blended clouds
Sea Glass house, black roof/door, and grassy base in hand-mixed greens
Light distressing around the edges for a charming, lived-in farmhouse look

Techniques you’ll learn
Fast, fluffy clouds: Paint the sky, then while it’s still wet, dab Bright White with a foam dauber to blend and create soft clouds
Clean paint lines: Tape off the roof before painting black to keep edges crisp
Easy color depth: Rough-mix greens (Eucalyptus + Pesto/Moss) so the tones stay slightly separated for built-in shadow/highlight
Simple distressing: Use a brown Distress Oxide ink pad and a dauber to “dingy” the edges for instant dimension
Precise gluing: Brush on Titebond Quick & Thick for clean, no-squeeze-out assembly

Colors and supplies we used (or great alternatives)
February CraftAlong Box: Salt Box House + Sheep (includes house layers, sheep with teardrop tail, heart, star, stand, instructions + QR code video)
Sky: Apple Barrel Sky Blue
Clouds: Bright White chalk paste (any bright white craft paint works)
House: Sea Glass (our new favorite spring color)
Roof + Door: Black chalk paste/paint
Grass: Mix Eucalyptus + Pesto (or Moss) for a natural look
Distressing: Brown Distress Oxide ink pad + dauber
Painter’s tape, small paintbrushes/foam daubers, scrap cardboard + tape, heat dryer
Adhesive: Titebond Quick & Thick (applied with a small brush)

Build notes and tips
The circle piece that comes in the kit goes behind the house so it sits evenly over the layered grass
The sheep tail is a tiny teardrop wood piece—don’t lose it! If you do, you can always paint one on
Use the star or heart (or both) wherever you like—roof accent, door detail, or tucked in the grass
Want a pop? Try a red door, a lagoon or sea glass house, or add light inking to the edges to age it
Display two ways: glue on the triangle stand for a shelf sitter or add ribbon/twine to the back to hang
