SSNM FOR ENHANCING CROP PRODUCTION, SOIL SUSTAINABILITY & CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION -DR.P.C. PATEL

Описание к видео SSNM FOR ENHANCING CROP PRODUCTION, SOIL SUSTAINABILITY & CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION -DR.P.C. PATEL

Site-specific nutrient management (SSNM) is the dynamic, field-specific management of nutrients in a particular cropping season to optimize the supply and demand of nutrients according to their differences in cycling through soil-plant systems.
Aim:
Provide a locally-adapted nutrient best management practice tailored to the field- and season-specific needs for a crop; Increase in yield; High efficiency of fertilizer use; Improve profitability; Improve marketable crop quality; Improve environmental stewardship.
Site-specific nutrient management is a component of precision agriculture and can be used for any field or crop. It combines plant nutrient requirements at each growth stage and the soil’s ability to supply those nutrients and applies that information to areas within a field that require different management from the field average. Site-specific management allows for fine-tuning crop management systems along with 4R Nutrient Stewardship – the right source, rate, time, and place of nutrient use.
Principles of SSNM:
SSNM is an approach to feed crops with nutrients as and when needed.
#Sevama Agri Clinic and Agri Laboratory, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India provide Services Laboratories for Soil, Water and Plant Testing for #higher #crop production and soil sustainability.
Real Time Nitrogen Mgmt. Under SSNM:
#SSNM is an approach for supplying the #crop with #nutrients at #right #time, right #amount, right #place and right #manner.
Various tools which are used for real time nitrogen management: #Leaf #colour #chart; #Chlorophyll #meter; Optical sensors and Remote sensing or use of GIS.
Singh and Bansal (2010) have compared three systems of fertilizer application on wheat production in 2010 & they have found that #SSNM system produced #maximum #wheat #production at Modipuram, Kanpur, Ludhiana, Sabour, Pantnagar & Palanpur than FP & SR.
Reduction of greenhouse gas emission:
SSNM maintains or enhances crop yields, while providing savings for farmers through more efficient fertilizer use. By minimizing fertilizer overuse, greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced, in some cases up to 50%. Manju Takue(2020) reported reported that SSNM provides guidance relevant to context of farmer’s fields. SSNM maintains or enhances crop yields while providing savings for farmers through more efficient fertilizer use.
