In an effort to express my story (an Assassins and Urban Artistry story) and those who sit in the seat of authentic hip hop dance culture, this mixtape series (inspired by the trading practices of traditional cassette tapes of DJs and Emcees) are personal statements of individuals who continue to embody the hip hop freestyle mentality and approach to their daily lives. Individuals who are educated and culturally invested and versed in their craft-- who can speak and give tools to continue tradition and embrace innovation-- with honesty and humility. Are you mainline or mainstream?

I often film in the alley ways and back yard corridors of DC because they are metaphors of the soul-grit-and-grime realities of a city; the funk of human life. This was filmed in Columbia Heights DC off of Sherman Ave and Harvard St. NW.

Music selection inspired by DC's homegrown Low Budget Crew: Grap Luva and Kev Brown; and a collab track by ANTHM, a friend from back in my Annandale High School days.
