On Tuesday 15th September, Chris Vosper was invited by Hugh Keir to feature on his popular H-Hour Podcast: a Sniper’s Podcast.

Chris served as a helicopter pilot, flying Apaches and Pumas for the Army Air Corps and Royal Air Force, the former during Op Herrick in Afghanistan. Since leaving the military Chris has started up V-FORCE Training – a company which combines motorsport and extreme sports into one action-packed experience.

In the podcast, Chris talks us through his experience of three Operational tours in Afghanistan commanding the impressive and almighty Apache AH-64 attack helicopter, supporting troops on the ground, conducting strike missions and escorting Chinook’s and other battlefield transport helicopters.

Chris talks in detail about the considerable responsibility of being on Very High Readiness (VHR) alert, being on 30mins readiness to respond and support Troops In Contact and how vital the support was in terms of saving lives.

A former Sniper in the Parachute Regiment, serving from 2000 to 2011, Hugh Keir conducted frontline operations in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. Since leaving the military, Hugh has worked as a Close Protection Officer in the Middle East and in the UK and produces the podcast in his spare time.

The H-Hour podcast is a long form conversation hosted by ex-soldier Hugh Keir, with friends and guests that have included politicians, actors, psychologists, MMA fighters, authors, campaigners, and beyond.

This podcast encompasses amazing military stories to discussions around mental health, foreign policy, funny stories from the front line or wherever the conversation leads.
