The Third Plenum: What Is Xi Jinping’s Plan for China?

NEW YORK, July 25, 2024 — Xi Jinping presided over the Third Plenum of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party on July 15-18, 2024. Following the meeting, the Party issued a “decision” document that will guide policymaking in China for years to come. In this webinar, hosted by the Asia Society Policy Institute’s Center for China Analysis (CCA), CCA experts Guoguang Wu, Bert Hofman, and Lizzi C. Lee share their reactions to the “decision” and other outcomes of the Third Plenum and what it tells us about Xi Jinping’s plan for the country. CCA Fellow Neil Thomas moderates the discussion.
