Technical stats:

My M/L sized helmet weighs 240grams or 8.5oz. what that means is this helmet is lighter than an empty beer bottle or an apple.

Helmet Overview:

I purchased the helmet for a trip down to Mexico to Climb Itzaccihuatl and Pico De Orizaba. I wanted a light comfortable climbing helmet and after a little research I decided to purchase the Black Diamond “Vector”. All and all I am very happy with this helmet. It’s light, very breathable and comfortable with or with out a beanie on.

Adjustment:

The ratcheting adjusters make it easy to throw on and adjust to your head. The only down side I can see to this ratcheting mechanism is you need two hands to tighten the helmet, versus other Boa like single nob tightening systems.

Durability:

With the outer shell of the helmet being on the softer side I found myself being more careful with the helmet in transport (maybe thats a good thing). If your carrying it on the outside of your pack I would pay a little more attention to knocking it into rocks or trees.
