The farm of former Rhodesian Prime Minister Ian Smith has been occupied by squatters, Smith's son Alec Smith said on Sunday.
About 50 people occupied Ian Smith's 4,000 acre (1,400 hectare) cattle ranch on Saturday, Alec Smith said.
More than 1,000 white-owned Zimbabwean farms are occupied by squatters and liberation war veterans who say the land is rightfully theirs.
Ian Smith, 81, whose 1964-79 premiership saw Zimbabwe, then called Rhodesia, declare unilateral independence from Britain in a bid to stave off black rule, was in Harare on Sunday.
He told APTN that he was uncertain whether the farm had been occupied.
SOUNDBITE (English)

A: "I have more black friends in this country than Mugabe, so why do they want to target me for? My conscience is clear, but look as soon as I know more I will came back to you..."
