The DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 is a time-proven classic. Originally appearing in grey around 40 years ago, it has been adopted by many as a great tool with which to scare the front end of your amp with. Now, under the direction of Tom Cram and his crew at DigiTech, the 250 has been reissued with a snazzy new paint job, crisp on/off LED, true bypass, 9VDC standard power options and the original LM741 Op Amp that was the coveted engine in the original.

A note about the video: I state my preference during the shoot for an amp set to break-up point when using the 250. After watching this video back while editing I actually really like the sound of the 250 into the very clean channel. However, running the 250 into a channel like my Laney's that has tons of clean headroom can result in some serious volume. So much so that you'll see me wince from the sheer volume when using the pedal with an SG to the clean channel. It sounds great, though!

I can't wait to see what DOD release next. If the 201 and 250 are any indication I'd say we're all in for a treat.
